Since beginning her banking career as a part-time teller over 30 years ago, Sharon Hammel has worked in various positions and leadership roles at Commerce Bank and Beneficial Bank. She joined Republic Bank as Retail Market Manager in 2012, charged with driving overall retail banking growth throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. She was promoted to Chief Retail Officer in 2017 overseeing the bank’s entire retail network consisting of locations in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and New York City. 

Sharon’s unwavering dedication and performance catapulted her to the role of Executive Vice President in 2022. This requires her to consistently develop new strategies to drive retail expansion from both a business development and employee perspective. Not only does Sharon oversee the growth of Republic Bank’s retail network, but she is also responsible for leading the bank’s consumer lending, marketing, store administration, customer service center, and treasury management departments.

 In addition to her many roles at the Republic, Sharon uses her experience and expertise by serving on the Board of Directors for Roman Catholic High School and South Jersey Bankers Association, as well Rowan College of South Jersey Digital Marketing and Advisory Committee.

Sharon is a lifelong resident of South Jersey who currently resides in Gloucester County. She enjoys time with her husband and children - traveling, skiing, and frequenting local restaurants.
