Executive Profile: Ron Monokian, Owner, We Make It Personal & COO, Manco & Manco Pizza
Ron Monokian has been a proud member of the Burlington Chamber for 8 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Chair Elect.
Ron’s family has been doing business in Burlington County since 1977. It all started when his family purchased a news agency in downtown Mt. Holly. In 1987, Ron and his wife, Joy, started Joy’s Hallmark in Burlington. Following the opening of the Burlington store, they expanded their footprint to Marlton and Medford as well.
In 2010, Ron and Joy introduced personalized engraved gifts as an offered service in the Hallmark stores and the personalization business took off with great success.
Two years later, the Monokian’s transformed the personalized business as its own entity, We Make It Personal, where it found a new home on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ.
In 2017, the business moved to Asbury Avenue in Ocean City, giving the store an opportunity to serve the community past the summer season.
We Make It Personal not only personalizes gifts in store and online but has many corporate accounts who reward customers and employees with a personalized gift. The store prides itself on fast and efficient service. The team enjoys working with customers who like to create their own unique gift.
Ron and Joy’s son Brandon has joined the business, along with their dog Harper. Entering the store and being greeted by Harper is what sets them apart as a true family business.
In January of 2023, the Monokian family closed the last of their 3 Hallmark stores after 36 years, but as the saying goes, every ending is a new beginning.
On March 1, 2023, Ron took a new role as Chief Operating Officer of Manco and Manco Pizza. Manco’s will be expanding soon to ball parks and hopefully, in a location near you!
