Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America

Celebrate Parks and Recreation Month this July by prioritizing your physical and mental health: unplug and unwind in outdoor spaces – and encourage your family and friends to meet you there! For more than 100 years, the programs of the Boy Scouts of America have modeled the positive impact that group outdoor experiences have on young people. Our time-tested outdoor program is first and foremost fun. We are known for hiking, camping, boating, archery and range sports, climbing, rockets, cardboard boats, and so much more! But Scouting’s true value is how it brings kids together, gives them developmentally appropriate challenges, helps them learn resiliency by celebrating successes and learning from setbacks, and advances their hard and soft skills so they can be Prepared, for Life.

Garden State Council is the regional representative of the Boy Scouts of America, serving families in six counties in southern New Jersey, including Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem. We welcome all interested youth age five through 20 and their families to Get Out and Scout with us. For more information about Cub Scouts (age 5-10), Scouts BSA (age 11-17), Venturing (age 14-20), Sea Scouting (age 14-20), or Exploring (age 14-20) – and to find units near you – visit GardenStateScouting.org/Join-Scouting. Are you an Eagle Scout? Check out our Eagle Scout Alumni Association for fun activities that also support scholarships for current Scouts!

We have opportunities for businesses and community members to support Scouting, too! Contact us to connect about hosting fun activities for Scout groups, sponsoring events, your corporate gifting needs, and more! Community support helps us deliver the Scouting program to underserved communities throughout South Jersey.

Get Out and Scout this July and enjoy our community parks while reconnecting with nature and neighbors!
