SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) is required training for anyone who wants to work in private security or private investigations, including retired police officers. While some can work under someone else's license, that will always pay less than having your own license. Having your own license will also open up many more job opportunities for you.

 The license requires 24 hours of classroom instruction. 

SORA training is a 3-step process to be completed within 30 days. These steps include registration with the New Jersey State Police, completing a 24-hour, in-class training program with a certified SORA instructor, and fingerprinting. T
