Burlington County Summer Restaurant Week Will Celebrate Event’s Five-Year Anniversary

Burlington County Restaurant Week will celebrate five years of tasty food, drinks and economic success this summer during what is expected to become the event’s largest and most exciting chapter yet.

The summer celebration of Burlington County restaurants, taverns, breweries, distilleries, wineries and food trucks will be held Aug. 18-24 and will showcase some of the region’s best food, drinks, deserts and appetizers.

Now in its fifth year, the weeklong promotion is organized by the Burlington County Commissioners, State Senator Troy Singleton and the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the week, they will highlight participating establishments by making visits and posting spotlights about them on social media.

Most participating establishments also choose to create special menus, dishes or discounts to offer to customers during the week.

“We created the first Restaurant Week in 2019 as an economic development initiative to showcase local restaurants and their importance to our communities, and since then, we’ve seen it continuously grow and become more and more popular with additional restaurants participating and thousands of patrons dining out,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “Last summer, nearly 150 restaurants participated, including at least one from each of Burlington County’s 40 municipalities. That’s a phenomenal accomplishment that shows how popular this event has become, and we expect this summer will surpass that total and become Burlington County’s biggest Restaurant Week to date.”

Restaurants can now sign up for the Summer Restaurant Week by completing a short online registration form at https://link.edgepilot.com/s/a0ddc555/foowZTV4ikOgkt6uHSH84w?u=https://burlingtoncountynj.formstack.com/forms/burlco_summer_restaurant_week2024.

There’s no charge to participate and restaurant are not required to create specials or discounts, but they are encouraged to do so.

A list of participating restaurants and planned specials can be found online at https://link.edgepilot.com/s/76ef73c0/FkxOx_YLbEaCyu6VK88ilQ?u=https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/1844/Summer-Restaurant-Week-2024 and will be updated daily as businesses sign up.

In honor of Restaurant Week’s anniversary, the Commissioners, Senator Singleton and the Chamber of Commerce also plan to recognize longtime participating restaurants who have helped popularize and grow the event.

“In every corner of Burlington County, there are amazing restaurants, including many small family-run businesses whose owners and employees are neighbors, family or friends,” said Senator Singleton. “Restaurant Week celebrates the delicious food and dishes these businesses offer, but also their impacts on our local downtowns and communities. It’s a great promotion and we’re excited to be a partner in it once again.”

“Restaurant Week’s is one of Burlington County’s biggest achievements from the last decade and we’re proud to have helped with the event’s rapid growth and success,” added Kristi Howell, president and CEO of the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “In such a short time, it’s become one of the biggest restaurant weeks across a region that includes Philadelphia and Atlantic City. It’s given participating businesses a huge lift and helped make dining local cool and exciting. This summer’s celebration is just weeks away so make sure to mark your calendars and check back to see all the great participating restaurants and specials.”
