Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council Seeking Nominations for 2024 Outstanding Women Awards
MOUNT HOLLY – Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson and Commissioner Allison Eckel announced that nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards are now open.
The Commissioners and the Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council will honor the outstanding contributions and leadership of women from the county. This year’s awards will include a new category recognizing excellence in humanities, such as the arts, film, history, music, theater or writing.
Applications will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, June 28.
The awards are sponsored by the Women’s Advisory Council and the Burlington County Board of Commissioners.
“From Alice Paul and Elizabeth White to Charity Still and Clara Barton, Burlington County has been blessed with great women leaders and achievers and our Women’s Advisory Council is excited to continue our tradition of recognizing women for their leadership and service,” said Hopson, who is a liaison to the Women’s Advisory Council.
The Council is looking for women who have made significant contributions in their chosen field and who have demonstrated their support for women in our communities. The nominees may have acted as mentors, role models or advocates for other women.
In addition to the new humanities category, the Council will select women to honor in the following categories: community service and volunteerism, diversity/inclusion, military or veterans service, education/mentorship, first responder/law enforcement, government, health care and law.
“Women in our county have excelled in every field and we’ve made it our mission to celebrate them and their achievements,” said Eckel, who is also a liaison to the Women’s Advisory Council. “By honoring women achievers and their accomplishments, we hope to inspire more women to take on leadership roles and reach higher.”
