Deborah Heart and Lung Center Named to NJDOH Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll
Browns Mills, NJ - Deborah Heart and Lung Center has been recognized by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) as a member of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to healthcare institutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to responsible antibiotic use.
The NJDOH Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll Program acknowledges healthcare facilities that meet or exceed the CDC’s Core Elements of Antimicrobial Stewardship through documented efforts and sustained programmatic excellence. This recognition underscores Deborah’s commitment to patient safety and quality care by promoting the appropriate use of antimicrobials to combat resistance and improve outcomes.
“We are proud to be recognized by the NJDOH for our antimicrobial stewardship efforts,” said Deborah’s Director of Pharmacy Services, Deb Sadowski, RPh, MHA. “Our team has worked diligently to implement a comprehensive stewardship program that optimizes antibiotic use, minimizes resistance and ultimately ensures the best care for our patients.”
Deborah’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) is led by a dedicated team of pharmacists, infectious disease specialists, physicians, nurses and microbiologists, who together ensure judicious antimicrobial use through ongoing surveillance, education and evidence-based protocols.
This recognition by NJDOH highlights Deborah’s leadership in addressing a critical public health issue and its alignment with national standards set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
