Deborah Heart and Lung Center Welcomes Geurys Rojas-Marte, MD as Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension
Browns Mills, NJ – Geurys Rojas-Marte, MD was appointed the new Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. Dr. Rojas-Marte started at Deborah in June and brings with him a wealth of expertise from his most recent role as Director of the Heart Failure program at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital. He also served as faculty in the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology program at Northwell North Shore University Hospital.
“I look forward to leading Deborah’s Advanced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension services, ensuring patients in the region have access to cutting-edge treatment options close to home,” said Dr. Rojas-Marte.
Board-certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography and Internal Medicine, Dr. Rojas-Marte earned his Doctor of Medicine magna cum laude from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. He completed his Cardiology fellowship at Rutgers University where he also served as Chief Academic Fellow and went on to pursue an Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant fellowship at the University of Florida.
With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Rojas-Marte has been at the forefront of managing complex cardiac cases involving mechanical circulatory support, cardiac amyloidosis and cardiogenic shock.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Rojas-Marte is known for his compassionate approach to patient care and his commitment to medical education and innovation. He has delivered numerous lectures and presentations at national and international conferences and has been recognized with several honors including the Northwell Health President’s Award Finalist (2023) and multiple "Super Doctors Rising Star" awards.
