Deborah Hospital Foundation Welcomes Philanthropic Expert Laura Fredricks, JD to Board of Directors
Browns Mills, NJ – The Deborah Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Fredricks, JD, to its Board of Directors.
Laura Fredricks is a globally recognized philanthropic advisor, motivational speaker, attorney and best-selling author. She is the founder and CEO of her own consulting firm, where she advises a select group of nonprofits and businesses on effective fundraising strategies—especially during complex capital and major gift campaigns.
Fredricks has deep roots at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. In the 1990s, she launched the hospital’s major gifts program, growing it from $50,000 to $6 million in just two years. Her connection to Deborah, and her impact on its philanthropic development, make this appointment particularly meaningful.

Beyond Deborah, Laura’s distinguished career includes serving as Vice President of Development at Temple University, where she oversaw fundraising for two hospitals, 15 schools and colleges and the athletic department. She and her team were instrumental in securing the groundwork for the $25 million naming of the university’s medical school. She has also led fundraising at Pace University, raising $100 million during a six-year post-9/11 campaign.

even influential books on philanthropy and communication, including Hard Asks Made Easy: How to Get Exactly What You Want, which has received top rankings on Amazon. She is also a sought-after media expert and educator, serving as an adjunct professor at New York University since 2005.

Laura Fredricks holds a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law and a B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University. She is a recipient of the Ralph Chamberlain Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the New York Nonprofit Network’s 50 Over 50 Award for Excellence in Media and Philanthropy.
